Grant Goddard     

Grant Goddard is a radio specialist / radio analyst / radio consultant with 30 years of experience in the radio broadcasting industry, having held senior management and consultancy roles within media businesses in the UK, Europe and Asia. He works as an international radio consultant who is available to clients for short- or long-term assignments that require a proven radio expert.

Consulting & radio management: Grant has a track record of creating and implementing strategies for the launch of successful, major market commercial radio stations in the UK (Kiss FM London), Russia (Radio 7 Moscow), Hungary (national Radio Juventus) and India (national Radio City). His expertise in the creative aspects of broadcasting has led him to invent new and innovative music radio formats, to hire and mentor new radio talent, and to devise groundbreaking marketing strategies for radio stations. His academic training in economics and statistics has been applied to develop robust business plans for broadcast ventures, to analyse competitive tensions in broadcast markets, and to manage detailed market research projects that ensure consumer engagement.

He has been invited to make presentations at international radio conferences (European Broadcasting Union, Association of European Radios, egta) and has authored more than 1,000 articles published in the trade and consumer press and in analyst reports.

DAB Digital Radio: Licensed To Fail by Grant GoddardPublications: Grant has published a number of reports on aspects of the UK radio industry and two books: an anthology of his writings about DAB digital radio and a first-hand account of the history of former London pirate radio station KISS FM.

Radio blog: Since 2008, Grant has maintained a Radio Blog where he analyses and comments on news and developments in the radio broadcasting industry. His insights are often quoted in the press and heard in radio interviews.

Grant’s expertise has been utilised within large global operations such as News Corporation subsidiary Star TV and US public corporation Metromedia International, as well as within local radio stations in developing markets such as Cambodia (working for the BBC World Service Trust), giving him a breadth of knowledge of the radio broadcast sector.
